Hello Hartland Community!
I'm Tyffany (Pietrzak) Baird, a proud graduate of Hartland. From 1st grade at Lakes Elementary School to the countless amazing teachers I have had at Hartland all the way through my senior year, I knew I wanted my own children to experience the same positive moments in school that shaped my own journey. After high school graduation, I went on to work for Disney, I still have that magic in me and spread a little glitter everywhere I go! After Disney, I pursued a degree in Communications and received a BA from Western University (Go Broncos!) with a BA in Communications, where I actively contributed to campus life as an elected board member on the Campus Activities Board (CAB), engaged in student government and volunteered at Drive Safe Kzoo. This is where I met my Husband, Tim Baird in Kalamazoo, and my very first new job out of college while on the career hunt ended up being substitute teaching. Beyond my role as a student, I served as a substitute teacher, gaining firsthand insights into the challenges educators face and the importance of a supportive learning environment. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I took on the responsibility of homeschooling my children, deepening my understanding of curriculum standards and personalized learning. Both experiences reinforced my commitment to advocating for a positive educational environment that caters to the diverse needs of students and supports the dedicated efforts of our educators.
My commitment to Hartland extends to my active involvement in the PTO and various volunteer activities. Regularly attending board meetings keeps me well-informed about the specific issues facing our community. This hands-on experience allows me to support and collaborate with our dedicated teachers and staff. I am a dedicated advocate for our schools with a background that uniquely positions me to contribute effectively to the growth and success of Hartland.
In my professional life, I have a wealth of experience in marketing and event planning. This career path has honed my skills in collaboration, organization, and bringing together diverse elements to achieve a common goal. I believe these skills are invaluable for navigating the complexities of educational leadership.
On a personal note, my journey as a lifelong Hartland resident and alumna reflects my deep pride in our community (GO EAGLES!!). My husband, Tim, and our two boys, who are currently enrolled in Hartland Schools, add a personal touch to my commitment to the well-being of our children and the success of our community.
I am excited to bring my experiences, skills, and connection to Hartland to the table as we work together for the benefit of our children's education. My goal is to foster a positive environment, empower parents, and collaborate for the continued growth and excellence of our district.
My promise to Hartland is to always prioritize the best interests of our kids, teachers, and community in every decision I make. I will focus on what truly benefits our students and educators, rather than merely enhancing the school's image or serving the interests of administrators.
I am not just a candidate; I am a dedicated member of this community, ready to serve and contribute. I am committed to uniting this community and working collaboratively to achieve the highest possible outcomes for everyone Let's make informed decisions together for brighter futures. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please reach out—I'm here for you.
